MARION NORTH MENTORING SCHEME

This scheme is aimed at giving new and emerging choreographers the opportunity to gain invaluable advice, support and feedback from established choreographers / dance artists.
The scheme consists of pairing a choreographer with a chosen mentor. There will be two awards made to two choreographers working in any style, but who have been resident in the UK for at least twelve months and who have received no regular or substantial funding. The pairing will also be appointed with a facilitator from the BBCF whose role will be to support the pairing and ensure the mentor process works smoothly. The mentor will be available to the mentee on a pre-arranged basis for a minimum of five meetings over a period of approximately one year.
The Marion North Mentoring Scheme was established to target the lack of advice and support for choreographers in the early stages of their careers. The scheme aims to help choreographers overcome artistic challenges and problems by giving them the opportunity to gain invaluable advice and support from an experienced choreographer / dance artist.
