ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS
A reasonable proficiency in English is necessary if you are to participate fully in our programmes and other activities at Laban.
Candidates for our Diploma in Dance Studies and the Independent Study Programme will need to provide evidence of English language ability. A suitable test would be the Cambridge Preliminary English Test, the British Council IELTS at Band 4 (General English Test) or the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English I.
Candidates for our BA (Hons) Dance Theatre or the Postgraduate Certificate: Dance in Community should normally have achieved the British Council IELTS Band 6 (General English Test) or above, a TOEFL score of 560, the Cambridge First Certificate in English (Grades A, B or C) or the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English II. We also offer classes to support students whose first language is not English.
If you wish to continue your studies at graduate level you will need to have gained the British Council IELTS Band 7 (General English Test), a TOEFL score of 600 or above, the Cambridge Advanced Examination (preferably at Grade A or B), the Cambridge Proficiency (Grades A, B or C) or the Trinity College London Integrated Skills in English III.
