CHRIS DE MARIGNY DANCE WRITERS AWARD
This year the Chris de Marigny Dance Writer’s Award is supporting Writing on Performance, a conference co-produced by Dance Theatre Journal with Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund, Association Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD), Laban and the Goethe Institute. The new Chris de Marigny Writer’s Award will be relaunched at this event and we invite/encourage all those with an interest in writing for dance to attend this conference.

The award is aimed at supporting and developing new and emerging dance writers in the UK.
One award of £1250 will be made to support or fund a project or study that will help develop the writers’ skills.
The Chris De Marigny Award was established to raise the quality of writing on dance in the UK by attracting newcomers to the field who reflect the changing circumstances of the dance world. Designed to support and encourage emerging dance writers in the early stages of their development, the award is given to support and fund any project that the writer believes will contribute towards their development as a dance writer.
No one particular style of writing is encourage - dance writing in ANY form, ANY style and in ANY context is accepted.
The award is aimed at writers who have not received regular / substantial exposure in public print, and have been based in the UK for at least one year.
