How to Apply
Our sessions develop from week to week in progressive courses. Each participant will need to complete an Evening Class enrolment form. Enrolments can be taken for each individual term or you can pay for the whole year in advance, but places are available on a first come first served basis. Classes are popular and tend to fill up quickly so early booking is advised. We do not offer drop in classes at Laban.

Fees
Fees are non refundable unless the course is cancelled by Laban, or unless the student is ill or injured and able to provide a medical certificate where they are unable to complete the course.

Information
If you need information or advice about the Adult Classes at Laban, please contact Liz Atkin on 020 8691 8600 or l.atkin@laban.org.

Trial Classes
Where space is available, we offer the opportunity for participants to try out a class before signing up for the whole term. You can pay £8 for a single trial dance or yoga class, and £11.50 to try a Pilates matwork class. Once you have attended a trial you would then need to pay the remainder of the term fee. Trial classes are only offered in the first three weeks of each term. We do not add new participants to classes after week three. Please note attending a trial class does not guarantee a place for the whole term. Please contact Liz Atkin on 020 8691 8600 or l.atkin@laban.org to book a trial class.

Access
Laban is a fully accessible building; all evening classes are in principle open to people with disabilities. If you have any special requirements it is helpful if you contact us beforehand and discuss them with us. 020 8691 8600, info@laban.org

Levels
Level 1
Classes are suitable for complete beginners and participants with limited experience and will focus on enjoyment and learning the essential foundations of the technique.
Level 1 Improver
These classes are suitable for people with a basic knowledge of the technique and are designed to build on the skills learnt in Level 1 classes.
Level 2
An elementary level class that requires participants to have more than basic knowledge, vocabulary and technique but who have not yet reached an intermediate or advanced level. The classes will be faster paced than Level 1.
General Level
Classes are suitable for participants at all levels of ability.

What to wear
Clothing: Participants are advised to wear soft comfortable clothing that is easy to move in such as tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt with extra layers for warmth. For ballet you can wear tight fitting clothing so that your teacher can check your alignment. To ensure your safety and the safety of others, we ask that participants do not wear jewellery when taking part in a class.
Footwear: Participants should expect to do all classes in bare feet, except ballet. For Ballet classes participants should wear soft ballet shoes if they have them, but tight fitting socks would be a good alternative. We do not offer pointe work Evening classes at Laban. For Jazz you may wear white soled trainers or jazz shoes if you have them. Alternatively the jazz classes can be done in bare feet.

Equipment for Pilates and Yoga
Pilates and yoga mats and other equipment such as blocks and Therabands and overballs are available to borrow from Laban for your class at no additional charge, but you are welcome to bring your own mat if you have one.

Latecomers
The classes at Laban run from 6.30 – 8.00pm, and 9.00 – 12.15 on Saturdays and due to health and safety participants who arrive later than 20 minutes after the start of the class will be permitted to watch the class but not take part. This is because they will have missed the essential warm up and introduction to the class which is vital in the prevention of injuries to participants. Laban has a duty of care to all evening class participants.

Laban fees are non refundable unless a student cancels due to illness or injury and can provide a medical certificate.
There is a £5.00 administrative fee for any cheques that bounce. There is a £10 Administrative fee for any refunds processed.
