Adult Dance Courses

Our courses allow you to develop and broaden your dance skills through classes that progress from week to week. Classes begin with a thorough warm-up, with structured exercises focussing on correct alignment of the body, stretching and flexibility, building stamina and raising general fitness level. Sequences are incorporated into classes and developed during the term. As an evening course student, you will benefit from the high standard of teaching, a friendly relaxed atmosphere and state of the art facilities of Laban.
Term 1 18 Sept – 11 Dec (12 Weeks)
Term 2 8 Jan – 2 Apr (12 Weeks)
Term 3 30 Apr – 9 July (10 Weeks)

Pilates and yoga mats are available to borrow from Laban for your class at no additional charge, but you are welcome to bring your mat if you have one.
Participants are advised to wear soft comfortable clothing that is easy to move in such as tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt, with extra layers for warmth. Participants work in bare feet for contemporary classes and soft ballet shoes or tight fitting socks for classical ballet.
Laban is a fully accessible building, all classes are in principle open to people with disabilities. If you have any special requirements it is helpful if you discuss them with us beforehand. Please contact Liz Atkin, Courses Manager on 020 8691 8600, or info@laban.org.
The classes at Laban run from 18.30 – 20.00h, and 9.00 – 12.15h on Saturdays and due to health and safety participants who arrive later than 20 minutes after the start of the class will be permitted to watch the class but not take part. This is because they will have missed the essential warm up and introduction to the class which is vital in the prevention of injuries to participants. Laban has a duty of care to all evening class participants.
