BRAY, Alison

Like many dancers, I discovered Pilates as part of my training. I had been looking to teach a form of exercise based on dance and the Pilates Method was there all along for me to discover. Much is spoken about its benefits for injury rehabilitation, but I love its inherent flexibility; it genuinely is beneficial to everyone.

I initially enjoyed mat-based Pilates on the curriculum at Laban and went on to train with Alan Herdman, qualifying in 2000. Since then, I have taught a wide variety of individuals of differing ages, needs and abilities in studios and in mat classes.

My aim now is to continue to learn and develop as a teacher; I am particularly interested in developing a better understanding of complementary subjects, such as the Alexander Technique, gyrotonic, yoga etc.
