CHOREOGRAPHERS FOR 2010

Born in New Zealand, Cameron is currently a London-based freelance dancer and choreographer. Classically trained at the Australian Ballet School, he danced for The Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) and English National Ballet before joining Rambert Dance Company in 2003. Since 2007 he has worked with Rafael Bonachela (Bonachela Dance Company) establishing himself as an emerging choreographer.
Interested in creating highly physical, refined and resonant dance, Cameron has developed his choreographic craft all through his dance career. In 1999, his first ever work was toured nationally by the RNZB. At Rambert Dance Company he created four pieces for Rambert dancers, including ‘Verge’ which was elevated into the main repertoire in 2006 and performed as part of the 80th anniversary season at Sadlers Wells. In 2007, he had his first major commission for the RNZB and was invited to take part in the ROH2 Dancelines Choreographic Course. Most recently, he has shown his work in Rafael Bonachela’s 62C curate at the Royal Festival Hall, created for LSC Intoto ’09, and was awarded 3rd Prize for his new creation for The Milwaukee Ballet Genesis International Choreographic Competition 2009.
